NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) is conducted by Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS). It is the official entrance exam to get admission into MBA courses at Mumbai campus and PGDM courses at Hyderabad and Bengaluru campuses. NMAT is conducted in a time frame of 3 months, allowing the students a choice of two retakes if desired.
Importance of NMAT Coaching Classes
NMAT Eligibility
Candidates who have completed a full time Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a UGC recognized University with minimum 50% marks aggregate in the first attempt can apply. The candidate must have completed graduation in the stipulated duration as per the respective University / Institution awarding the degree.
Candidates who have graduated by doing a part-time course or through distance learning, correspondence courses, externally, open school are not eligible to apply.
For all the full time programs, candidates with two and more years of post-qualification, work experience will be preferred.
Test format
The NMAT is a computer based test, conducted between October and December every year. The test lasts for 2 hours (120 mins). It has 120 questions split over 3 sections: a) Language Skills (32 questions/ 22 mins), b) Quantitative skills (48 questions/ 60 mins) and c) Logical Reasoning ( 40 questions/ 38 mins). All sections are individually timed and candidates need to answer the questions within the allotted section time. Once the candidate moves out of a section, they cannot return to that section.
The test has multiple choice objective type questions with 4 answers each. 1 mark is awarded for every correct answer and there is no negative marking.
A distinctive feature of the test is that every candidate will get a unique but equivalent question paper.
NMAT Test registration fees
A fee of Rs.2000 is to be paid for normal registration for either MBA Full Time (in Mumbai campus) or PGDM. The fee is Rs. 2400 for registering for both MBA Full Time (in Mumbai campus) and PGDM. Both fees are non-refundable. A candidate can apply for more than one program or campus as per his / her eligibility by giving preferences.
The fees can be paid either online through credit card, by Demand Draft or by paying cash at one of the designated Axis bank branches.

The NMAT is generally administered across 18 cities within India:
- North: Chandigarh, Delhi, Jaipur and Lucknow
- West: Ahmedabad, Nagpur and Mumbai
- South:Bengaluru, Chennai, Cochin and Hyderabad
- Central: Bhopal, Indore and Bhilai
- East: Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Kolkata and Patna
Some cities will have multiple test centres to choose from.
